Certified Life/Career Coach and Television/New Media Packaging Agent, Jim Arnoff leads this interactive workshop. Get an insider's take on envisioning your ideal career. Identify and embrace your strengths, skills and passions. Maximize your options, and get clear about your career direction. Break through the walls that may be holding you back. Using one-on-one and group coaching, Jim provides the tools and tips that are sure to put you on the right path to realizing your dream career.

Jim Arnoff is a Television Packaging Agent, representing production companies in the development and sales of original programming to the top-rated networks and new media outlets. A Lawyer and Certified Life/Career Coach to the entertainment industry, Jim has worked at the William Morris Agency as both an in-house lawyer and packaging agent. He is well-known for his career workshops for a variety of top-tier professional organizations including the Producers Guild of America, Writers Guild of America, National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Time Warner, New York Women in Film & Television and the MTV Networks. Jim is a faculty member of the School of Visual Arts, New York Film Academy and FIT.

B - Build a Better Resume: A Hands-on, How-to Workshop on Building your Best Resume
                                            for the Right Job

PGA Member and industry Career Coach Nancy Goldman provides a blueprint for building a better resume in this hands-on workshop. Your resume is your first opportunity to make an impression, and in this 4-hour intensive, members will have the opportunity to have their resume reviewed and critiqued by industry luminaries. Our goal? A good impression... A resume that will get you hired!

Nancy Goldman is the Co-Chair of the PGA East Employment Committee and has facilitated workshops for the PGA on interviewing techniques and resume writing. As a trainer and job developer at the "Made in NY" production assistant training program, she provides the ways and means necessary for aspiring PAs and grads to make their marks in production jobs throughout the NY area.

C - Crafting Your Personal Pitch: How to Craft and Tell Your Personal Story

DIRECT from LA! PGA Executive Director, and force of nature, Vance Van Petten returns to the District to give us yet another fabulous workshop...geared to getting you hired. This is an experiential workshop requiring role-play and practice, practice, practice. Raise your voice and speak your mind, perfect your pitch. Try out some new speaking skills, and fresh ideas. Vance will be sharing proven tools you can use to make yourself "memorable and distinctive” to potential employers and your fellow members of the producing team. There will be an interactive exercise involving members of the audience, so be prepared to "present yourself.”

Prior to joining the PGA, Vance Van Petten was Executive Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Studios USA/Universal Television where he oversaw all television production and distribution, including series such as Law & Order, Hercules & Xena, and The Maury Povich Show. He was previously Twentieth Television’s Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, where he oversaw all reality television production and distribution for such series as America’s Most Wanted, A Current Affair and Cops. From 1984-1992, Van Petten was Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs at Paramount Domestic Television, where he was in charge of all syndicated series, such as Entertainment Tonight, Hard Copy and The Arsenio Hall Show.

In order to ensure your attendance, the PGA requires each MEMBER to send a check, made out to: PGA East for $25 for each seminar reserved. We will NOT process, but instead return your check, unless you fail to appear for the designated program within the ascribed time.
