SHOOTING IN 4K - IS IT RIGHT FOR YOU?

Presentation followed by camera test-drive, food and beverages

Members of the Producers Guild of America and the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) are invited to join Adorama and David Leitner for an evening exploring 4K. David Leitner, a director of photography known for his documentary work including "For All Mankind" and "Trembling Before G-d," will discuss his experience and knowledge of shooting in 4K versus non-4K.David will show footage from his own projects, explaining the differences between different shots.

Cameras included in the presentation include: Arri Alexa, Canon C500, Sony F55, Sony FS700 and Sony Z100. Also on display at the event will be the Sony PVM-X300 4K monitor for showcasing 4K footage.

After the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to test-drive the featured equipment. Food and beverages will be served at this FREE event, brought to you by Adorama.

About David Leitner
David Leitner is an active director, producer, and DP with over 60 credits in feature-length dramas and documentaries, including eight Sundance premieres. A former IATSE DP, his cinematography has been seen on Showtime, Bravo, Sundance Channel, HBO, MTV, PBS and theatrically. As co-producer of the Academy Award-nominated "For All Mankind," he spent nine months at NASA’s Johnson Space Center restoring and enlarging 16mm lunar footage. As director of new technology at DuArt Film Laboratory, he led advances in Super-16, 35mm blow-ups, and film-to-tape while creating DuArt’s novel Camera & Lens Testing Facility. Since 1995 he has photographed several dozen films about artists and architects, including Brancusi, Picasso, Chuck Close, Ellsworth Kelly, Roy Lichtenstein and Milton Glaser. He is an author, columnist, speaker and ongoing contributor to the classic textbook, "The Filmmaker’s Handbook.” He was senior contributing editor at Millimeter magazine for two decades and presently serves as Motion Picture Chair of the New York Section of SMPTE.
