The PGA East Mentoring Committee presents...

PGA EAST MENTORING
APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Thank you for your interest in the PGA East Mentoring Program. Please read the following information carefully before filling out the application, as some of our guidelines have changed.

ABOUT THIS PROGRAM:
The PGA East Mentoring Program provides Guild members an opportunity to increase their knowledge of a specific area of interest, or to develop their current skills towards a new application, by connecting them with established Guild members who have volunteered to share their knowledge and experience.

Each mentoring cycle lasts approximately five months, with a minimum of three hours of mentoring provided during that period. The mentoring can take the form of in-person meetings, emails, phone sessions, set visits, or small semi-private groups. You are applying for the PGA East Mentoring Cycle 2014- B (not the same as the West Coast program) beginning on June 16, 2014 and ending on November 17 2014.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:
The completed application is due by the April 25 at 5:00pm. A mentor committee member will follow up with a phone interview, and you will be informed of our decision by the week of June 9.

PLEASE NOTE:
We are not able to provide individual mentors in scripted television and, at times , in other highly-requested areas. Rather than turn people away, whenever possible we will arrange one or more master classes where small groups of accepted applicants with similar interests can be mentored by established PGA professionals. We have had great success with these sessions, as they provide both individual attention from the mentor and the chance to share information and experiences with other members.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the mentor program. There are always many more applications than mentors, making this a highly competitive process. We therefore encourage you to put time and thought into your answers and to be as specific as possible regarding your goals and reasons for requesting a mentor; it will not only make your application stand out, it will also help us to place you in the most appropriate mentor situation if you are selected.

Please do not apply for this program if you are not fully committed to seeing the process through at this time. Our committee works hard to match applicants with the most appropriate mentors, and the mentors we work with are highly respected busy professionals who are generously volunteering their time. It is a privilege to be given this opportunity and we are counting on you to treat it as such.

Finally, please be aware that once you have completed this mentor cycle, whether in an individual or small group situation, you will not be eligible to apply again for one year in order to give other members a chance to participate.

Thanks again for your interest, and good luck!

Best,

Wendy Neuss, Chair, PGA East Mentoring Committee
Volga Calderon, Co-Chair, PGA East Mentoring Committee
