Film Financing is
always evolving due to technological changes, legal developments, and market
forces, so it is critical to keep abreast of the latest advancements. The film
financing landscape is rapidly changing, and what works today may well be
obsolete tomorrow. Schuyler 'Sky' Moore, a partner in the corporate
entertainment department of Stroock, practicing entertainment, corporate, and
tax law, will continue his recent Produced By panel talk on new business models
at this seminar. Topics that will be covered are all the various ways to raise
film financing, including donative crowdfunding, equity crowdfunding, raising
equity from advertisers, state tax credits, private offerings, financing by
"retailers,” strategic investors, tax credit financings, and pre-sales.
Scuyler M. Moore has
handled some of the largest financing transactions in Hollywood and represents
a broad spectrum of clients throughout the entertainment industry, including
producers, sales agents, and foreign distributers. Moore is the author of The
Biz: The Basic Business, legal and Financial Aspects of the Film Industry.
