You are shooting in a New York State and want to give back to the community…. What organization/school/soup kitchen/shelter is most in need? What do they really need the most? Who has the time to coordinate this? And how will the community learn about your production’s give-back?

Thankfully, help is here. The Governor's Office of Motion Picture and Television Development and NY State Commission on National and Community Service have formed a first of its kind partnership, FILM GOOD/DO GOOD, to connect film and television productions with volunteer service opportunities throughout the state, helping to build capacity at poverty-focused nonprofit organizations. This program encourages cast and crew members to volunteer at nonprofit organizations that are fighting hunger, homelessness and other root causes of poverty in some of the state’s neediest neighborhoods.

Join us for an Open House and Reception to hear how producer Blair Breard and her show LOUIE “did good,” as well as how FILM GOOD/DO GOOD facilitators can tailor individual volunteer events that fit the needs of both the community and your show.

This program can change lives, improve neighborhoods, encourage further growth of entertainment altruism in New York and demonstrate the positive footprint productions can leave in the areas where they work.

Presenters:
M. Blair Breard, Executive Producer, LOUIE, BASKETS, BETTER THINGS, ONE MISSISSIPPI, HORACE AND PETE.

Gigi Semone, Executive Director of the Governor's Office for Motion Picture and Television Development.

Michelle Byrd, Consultant, FILM GOOD/DO GOOD Program Manager.

Linda Cohen, Executive Director, NY State Commission on National and Community Service.
