2013 PRODUCERS GUILD AWARD WINNERS

"ARGO” -BEN AFFLECK, GEORGE CLOONEY, GRANT HESLOV- WINS THE ZANUCK AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING PRODUCER OF THEATRICAL MOTION PICTURES

 

  

LOS ANGELES, CA (January 26, 2013) – Tonight the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced this year’s winning motion picture and television productions at the 24thAnnual Producers Guild Awards ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.

In addition to the competitive awards, the PGA recognized several producers with honorary awards including Bob and Harvey Weinstein (Milestone Award),Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner (David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), J.J. Abrams (Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television), Russell Simmons (Visionary Award), and BULLY (Stanley Kramer Award). The 2013 Producers Guild Awards were chaired by Michael De Luca.

The 2013 Producers Guild nominated films and television programs are listed below in alphabetical order by category, along with producers. The producers’ names for each nominated production are listed in alphabetical order and may not reflect the order of screen credits. The winners are indicated in bold and with an asterisk (*).

In 1990, the Producers Guild held the first-ever Golden Laurel Awards, which were renamed the Producers Guild Awards in 2002. Richard Zanuck and Lili Fini Zanuck took home the award for Best Produced Motion Picture for DRIVING MISS DAISY, establishing the Guild’s awards as a bellwether for the Oscars. Last year, the PGA awarded THE ARTIST with its Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, marking the fifth consecutive year the Producers Guild has presaged the Motion Picture Academy’s choice.

It would be great if next year, winners in teh digital/children's/sports categories could actually be treated like normal people and be allowed to go on stage to thank the PGA among others. Was fun to be there and an honor to win on behalf of NBC.com, but would've liked to have acknowledged the team. CA
