Variety - Google Gets a New Round of Hollywood Pressure to Fight Piracy

The Motion Picture Association of America, along with like minded lawmakers and lobbyists, are applying pressure to Google and other search engines to own up to what they feel is a "responsibility for introducing people to infringing content, even people who aren't actively looking for it."  

Google announced a plan last summer to take into account "takedown notices" in determining search rankings but the MPAA has presented a study indicating that any such plan has been ineffectual.
