Despite not meeting expectations for first-quarter earnings per share, Netflix earned a personal record of 4.9 million subscribers during Q1- bringing their total subscribers to an impressive 62.27 million.
subscriptions were up, with the streaming giant adding 4.9 million subscribers in the most-recent 90-day period — a record for the company. The U.S. was responsible for 2.3 million of those new members. The total subscriber number rose to 62.27 million; 59.62 million are paid subscribers.
Netflix credited Season 3 of “House of Cards,” as well as new series “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Bloodline,” for its most-recent leap.
