THE PRODUCERS GUILD OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES
TWO NEW INTERNATIONAL AFFILIATE RELATIONSHIPS WITH
SOUTH AFRICA’S INDEPENDENT PRODUCERS ORGANIZATION &
MALAYSIA’S CREATIVE CONTENT INDUSTRY GUILD

PGA’s International Pacts Now Total 18 Countries Worldwide

LOS ANGELES (May 4, 2015) – The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today two new affiliate relationships with South Africa’s Independent Producers Organization (IPO) and Malaysia’s Creative Content Industry Guild (CCIG), allowing members of both organizations "International Region” membership status in the U.S.-based PGA. These pacts allow the PGA and its associated guilds the mutual benefits of access to resources, a foundation for networking and co-producing opportunities, and an international exchange of ideas and information about producing film, television and digital projects.

"Both the Independent Producers Organization in South Africa and the Creative Content Industry Guild in Malaysia represent the future of production -- high-growth, innovative territories with tax incentives and a plethora of producing talent. The PGA’s 7000-strong membership now has go-to contacts in these and 16 other affiliated producing entities worldwide, through our growing network of sister guilds," said PGA International Committee Chair, Stu Levy.

"This is an exciting development for the Independent Producers Organization. Our membership is increasingly interested in international partnerships and we look forward to a long and fruitful collaboration with the PGA,” said Helena Spring and Bongiwe Selane, Co-Chairs of the IPO.

Said Jurey Latiff Rosli, Chairman of the CCIG, "The CCIG is very proud to forge a relationship with the Producers Guild of America. It is great for Malaysia and for our members to be globally recognized for the vibrant work our local filmmaking community produces.”

Added William Stuart, PGA International Committee Co-Chair, "The PGA is excited by the multitude of global opportunities available to its members, and with South Africa and Malaysia joining our influential network of affiliates, producers all around the world increasingly are only one email or phone call away from one another.”

The addition of IPO and CCIG brings the PGA’s total number of sister guilds to 18 worldwide, reflecting the increasingly global nature of the entertainment industry and the Guild’s influence in facilitating partnerships with producers internationally.
