WIN Salon Series

Thursday, June 9
East Coast Digital Midtown
519 8th Avenue, 5th Floor
6:30pm: Doors open
7:00 - 8:00pm: Conversation
8:00 - 9:00pm: Networking

The story is all around you. What does that mean? This intimate and collaborative conversation will help ease the traditional producer's technical discomfort and curiosity about producing VR and 360 content. How does it work? How much does it cost? Where is the distribution?

We will have seasoned "2D" and transmedia producers, Dana Kuznetzkoff and Julina Tatlock, and post producer, Stina Hamlin, to tell their stories and talk nuts and bolts of what it means to produce 360 and VR content.

You will walk away with basic terms and vocabulary, a look at the different camera options out there to create this content, and access to a traditional post facility that is venturing into this space from the same point of view.

Light fare, beer and wine will be provided by the New Media Council.

Dana Kuznetzkoff is the founder of Fourth Agreement, a versatile film & TV production company whose mission is to create unique films that inspire and entertain. She has led diverse projects from HBO’s pilot episode "Boardwalk Empire" to their acclaimed series "The Wire" and was the co-producer of NBC’s "Smash." She is currently working with Doug Liman and Julina Tatlock as one of the producers of the first scripted virtual reality series, "Invisible" for Conde Nast Entertainment, and recently completed "The New Yorker Presents," an episodic show for Amazon Studios visualizing the iconic magazine’s unique stories. Dana is the producer of the award-winning documentary "Thread," which focuses on women in Afghanistan, and is developing a film about the hidden history of the women of World War II based on the book "We Band of Angels." For the Producers Guild of America, Dana serves on the National Board of Delegates and the PGA East Board of Representatives. A guest lecturer at NYU and Columbia University, she is also on the advisory board of Naked Angels Theater Co. and is a member of NY Women in Film and Television and the Directors Guild of America.

Julina Tatlock founded 30 Ninjas with Doug Liman in 2009. Julina is Doug Liman's VR Producer. She is Executive Producer and Director of Episodes 3 & 4 of the six-part VR mini-series, "Invisible." Julina's recent work as a transmedia writer/producer includes: Tom Cruise’s "Edge of Tomorrow," "I Am Number Four: They Walk Among Us" –– interactive short story (Harper Collins), "Hashtag Killer and The Social Sector" –– interactive "Psych" episodes (USA Network), "Suits Recruits 1, 2, and 3" — interactive "Suits" episodes (USA Network), interactive video episodes: "Sights Unseen: A Covert Affairs Prequel" and "Mission Budapest" (USA Network), a "Covert Affairs" Tweetcast (a Covert Affairs Episode told over Twitter). Tatlock’s Awards and Nominations include: Two Shorty Awards, three Emmy Nominations (Outstanding Original Interactive Programming and Outstanding Work in Long Form Investigative Journalism), one SXSW Nomination (Best Interactive Film/TV Campaign), one TV of Tomorrow Award (Most Significant Content Offering), winner of Gracie Award for Outstanding Documentary, both the Grand Prize and Best Mixed Media Award at the World Internet Animation Festival, and was nominated for Best Animation Award at the Ottawa International Animation Festival.

A veteran member of the Producers Guild of America and committee member of the PGA's Women’s Impact Network, Stina Hamlin has been producing non-fiction, lifestyle television for over 20 years. Producing credits include Production Executive for "House Hunters" and "House Hunters International" and Post Supervisor for multiple series for Scripps Networks, TLC, and Discovery (Stina Thomas IMDB). After working in commercials, then transitioning to post production facilities, DuArt and East Coast Digital, her enthusiasm for non-fiction, documentaries, and technology never wavered. Producing new media projects and virtual reality storytelling that is immersive and impactful is her passion. Through East Coast Digital’s New Media division, she is Post Producing for Unicef’s Kid Power Band app with Caitlin Burns, and has partnered with Director Kira Benzing to complete their first virtual reality piece, “Cardboard City,” which won the Samsung Gear Indie Milk VR contest this year and premiered at Sundance on the MilkVR platform.
