"Produced By: New York 2016" Announces Tina Fey & Chris Rock As Featured Speakers

The 3rd Annual Conference Takes Place Saturday, October 29 at the Time Warner Center in New York City 

LOS ANGELES (August 16, 2016) – The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today that Tina Fey and Chris Rock are featured speakers at Produced By: New York 2016 (PBNY), which will be held for the third consecutive year at Time Warner Center in New York on Saturday, October 29. The conference will present a pair of in-depth discussions, "Triple Threat: Conversation with Tina Fey” and "Dying is Easy. Comedy is Hard.” with Chris Rock and Red Hour Films’ Stuart Cornfeld.

Last year’s Produced By: New York attracted influential storytellers including Michael Moore, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Effie Brown, Barbara Hall, John Hoffman, Navid Khonsari, Robert & Michelle King, Michael London, Tom McCarthy, Lydia Dean Pilcher, Peter Saraf, Darren Star, and Christine Vachon, among many others. Additional speakers for this year’s PBNY will be announced in the coming months.

Tina Fey is an award-winning television and film actress, writer and producer (3 Producers Guild Awards, 7 total nominations). She completed a seven-year run as the creator, executive producer, and star of the three-time Emmy Award-winning comedy series, "30 Rock.” Her performance on the series earned her an Emmy Award, two Golden Globes, four SAG Awards, and a People’s Choice Award. Prior to "30 Rock,” Ms. Fey completed nine seasons as a writer and cast member on "Saturday Night Live.” Ms. Fey’s film projects, to name a few, include SISTERS, WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT, DATE NIGHT, BABY MAMA, and the celebrated cult favorite, MEAN GIRLS (which she wrote). In 2010, she became the youngest recipient of the Mark Twain Award for American Humor. Lauded by peers and critics alike, Chris Rock is one of our generation’s strongest comedic voices. As an actor, director, producer and writer he has created many memorable moments.

Rock returned in 2016 to host the 88th Annual Academy Awards. In the past year, he has directed HBO’s comedy special "Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo,” guest-starred on the hit series "Empire” and made an appearance in the upcoming Netflix holiday special "A Very Murray Christmas,” starring Bill Murray.

With a career spanning more than three decades, Rock has enjoyed ongoing success in both film and television as a comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. In 2014 he led the ensemble cast of TOP FIVE, a critically acclaimed comedy feature that he also wrote and directed. In 2009 Rock ventured into the documentary world as a writer and producer of GOOD HAIR, and in 2014 he executive produced EAT DRINK LAUGH: THE STORY OF THE COMIC STRIP, a documentary recounting the history of one of New York’s most famous comedy venues. His feature acting credits include the GROWN UPS and MADAGASCAR franchises, HEAD OF STATE, NURSE BETTY, CB4, DEATH AT A FUNERAL, I THINK I LOVE MY WIFE, 2 DAYS IN NEW YORK, DOGMA and NEW JACK CITY.

Rock has won four Emmy Awards, three Grammy Awards and is a New York Times Best-Selling Author. In addition, he was received two nominations for the 2016 Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Director for a Variety Special for "Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo,” and Outstanding Special Class Program for the 88th Annual Academy Awards.
